Okay, finally, a few minutes to write in my blog. No, I hadn't forgotten about it. I was just on a knitting bender! Had a huge order, finished it, mailed, done.

Now onto Etsy and the blog.

New on Etsy this season:
recycled fabric covered Kindle Cases with vintage buttons. So far the cases that are made are for the $79 Kindle. There will also be cases for Kindle Fire and Kindle with Keypad.   Just keep checking back.

Here are a couple of photos and thanks for stopping by.

ATCs or Artist Trading Cards are a very nice thing to trade with other artists of all types. Oil painters exchange with pen and ink artists, stampers trade with collagers, embroiderers trade with watercolorist.

The ATC is the size of a playing card and is an example of that artist's work along with a bit of information about the artist.

I belong to an embroidery group and we are in a birthday ATC swap. I have sent off my first one  but here is a picture of  the next to be mailed.

In this case, this is not anything spectacular but it is a tiny example of the kind of artwork I do.

The ATCs that I am mailing and hopefully receiving are from all around the world. It will be so interesting to see the work!

More another time!  Keep creating!!!!

Just want to keep in touch ----- no embroidery this weekend -- I am in San Francisco with my son, his wonderful wife and baby Wyatt!  1st birthday party!!! Fun.

But I have been knitting a bit - long plane ride and Super Bowl game so one more pair of wristlet finished, and started and some new yarn purchased. Knit, Knit, Knit.

Once I get home I think I will embroider another ATC (Artist Trading Card) for the birthday ATC swap that I am in. When it is done I will post a picture.  I did one for someone in the month of January and forgot to take a photo. I think we all will survive!

Because of being gone this weekend I will miss my embroidery club meeting. Are you in a club?  What kind of things do you make? How long have you embroidered?I am curious! And feel free to 'follow' the blog.  It is fun to see who you all are!

Oh it has been so very long since I have added to this blog. My initial intent was to document
the creation of a Crazy Quilt wall hanging, block by block. Well, I was derailed! We moved -- from beautiful Door County, WI to beautiful Hudson, WI to be near some of our children. Shortly after we moved, my husband was diagnosed with lung cancer and 3 1/2 months later, in March he passed away.  Oh dear! So many changes and challenges in such a short time! Thank goodness for family and friends! They have all been terrific! And new friends! All amazing!

And we have had two weddings and a new grandbaby, all since we have moved here!

Now I have time -- to make, create, get organized!  And I find I am not as productive as I thought I would be!!  Oh darn!!!  The said documented quilt has been put on hold.  It will get done sometime!

I do have a little business! My things are actually in 5 stores so I am very busy keeping up with the product need there.  And just what is in these 5 stores?

Hand Knit Fingerless Gloves and Leg Warmers at Ecology Sports, Sister Bay, WI
Recycled Fabric Covered Journals at Funky Hannah, Racine, WI
Recycled Fabric Covered Journals at Petal Pusher, Green Bay, WI
Recycled Fabric Covered Journals at Seasons on St. Croix, Hudson, WI
Recycled Fabric Covered Journals at Harriet Brewery, Mn

So, life marches on.  New friends, old friends and family keep me going and my love of creating is coming back!  Yeah!!!  My house is a bit empty but my head and heart are full of wonderful, wonderful memories!  Elmer Keller was a wonderful man!  I was very lucky to have him in my life!

When you have time, check out the above businesses!
And thanks for stopping at my blog!

A new page

Yesterday I posted some new photos -- not of artwork -- but of things that perhaps we sometime miss seeing in our busy lives.  Take a peak and see if you can:

Find the raindrops on the  flower
Figure out where the other shoes are
Figure out how those green trees could grow that way
Understand how ice can look so fluffy
Who made that beautiful cappucino

and on and on.  Enjoy the viewing!!!

The photos can be seen on the right side of this page and on

Thanks for looking!!!!

Happy Mother's Day to all who celebrate!  Today we have sunshine!!!!!  Opps!  Said that too fast.  The sun is gone and it looks like we will have rain!  Well, at least we know that the sun is out there -- somewhere!

And my quilt square for Primary Colors whose progress I am attempting to show in my page, A Journey with a Quilt and a Blog -- yes, the blue one, is working it's way to the top of the to-do stack.  Yesterday I even bought some hand dyed silk ribbon, some pale blue fresh water pearls and some beautiful hand painted Waterlilies threads by Caron. Yum!!!  Beginning to feel like I need to ONLY stitch on this beauty and put aside all else.

Here is a tiny bit of that blue square. Have a great day!

Will spring ever come to western Wisconsin?  This morning, May 2 it was snowing!!!!!! Thank goodness nothing stuck to the ground -- the shovel was spared!!  These cold, gray, wet mornings and afternoons and evenings lend themselves to 'making'!

Because I have a big order for knit things due in August, on these days I have been knitting and making progress!  These things --  fingerless gloves and leg-warmers --  don't really look that interesting in photos but I must say I am using great yarns and the product looks good.  Every time I look in my yarn basket however, there is my blue quilt square staring up at me! Stitch me, stitch me it is saying!  Okay, Okay I answer back!  But there are very few creative juices in my head.  I think that too much has happened in my life in the last months ---- but those creative ideas will come back, I am sure!

In the mean time -- we can all enjoy the Yarn!!!!
And check out my ETSY shop!
